TIP #94: Microphone Recording Problems in Windows XP
Sometimes when you plug a microphone into the computer’s microphone jack, the sound recording feature in software such as Kid Pix Deluxe 4 will not work. Here is one possible fix:
1. Go to the Start menu and select Settings, then Control Panel.
2. Open Sounds and Audio Devices.
3. Click on the Audio tab.
4. Under Sound Recording, click on the Volume button.
5. In the Recording Control window, click to place an X next to the Select box at the bottom of the Microphone column.
